In 1914 Salvatore Migrated To Boston
Salvatore Ferragamo was an Italian shoe designer. He had a passion for designing at a very young age. That passion led to his first retailer opening based in his dad and mom residence. In 1914 Salvatore ferragamo bit driver moccasin migrated to Boston, Massachusetts then to Hollywood, California where he found success in a restore and “made to measure ” shoe retailer. His shoes became a luxury among the many celebrities of the day. He ruturned to Italy in 1927 opening a workshop that created 350 pairs off shoes a day. Salvatore’s brand started to flourish main him to design sneakers for Marilyn Monroe and Eva Peron.
Salvatore Farragamo handed away in at age 62 in 1960. His widow Wanda and 6 chilren took over the corporate. His title lives on as a global company which expanded from luxurious footwear to baggage, eyewear,silk accessories, watches, perfumes and clothes. His most famous design are the cage heel and the stiletto. His eldest daughter created the vara pumps in 1978.
