Silverporsche, I notice you’re in Missouri, so I’ll assume that the Neiman Marcus you frequented stocks the identical range of Ferragamo footwear that I saw on the NM in Philadelphia/King of Prussia.

Ferragamo Womens Purple Belts Logo Silver BuckleThe Ferragamos I noticed at KOP were all decrease/mid range footwear. The order of quality, from lowest to highest, I consider, is:

Ferragamo Studio (low cost, overpriced, “glued”)
Ferragamo Lavatoriale Originale, sp?, (decent high quality Blake construction, nonetheless overpriced at retail of around $400-$500)
Ferragamo Tramezza (Goodyear welted, retail around $650-$800, quite nice leather-based; exhibits up on Ebay every now and then for $200-$280, and that’s a great deal)

Gucci footwear are always a mystery, not sure exactly what Italian factory they’re made, high quality does not justify asking worth but the model-title and fashion/fashion may justify purchase to some.

Ballys was very first rate about 20 years in the past. Their prime of line is the Scribe, which is Goodyear welted. The final/form could be hit or miss, some are very elegant, some not. I might simply follow the Scribe line and keep away from the remaining. That said, I do have a non-Scribe pair bought about 10 years ago (full retail at $450) that is corrected-grain leather-based. I’ve Topy the only and it’s a nice beater shoe that’s lasted and nonetheless going.

Bruno Magli top of line is, I believe, the Platinum. That is all I learn about it. Typical BM you see at dept shops are overpriced.

Santoni’s at most dept shops are a waste of cash. There’s quite a couple of ranges of the Santoni’s, the better/best ones being the FAM (fatte a mano) and the highest of line Restricted (very arduous to find in the States, retail for $1500-$2300, very very good antiquing on the leather-based). Even the FAM’s are apparently subdivided into a number of ranges. Our forum FAM nut Brian can better explain the main points. Me personally I purchase solely the Santoni Traditional lines which might be Goodyear welted (retail for about $700-$900, and will have a “Goodyear” stamped on the only) and some FAM’s.
